Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' came out 50 years ago
Considered the fathers of heavy metal, Black Sabbath fully announced their worldwide presence with 'Paranoid' 50 years ago Thursday
Black Sabbath’s second album, Paranoid, was initially released overseas on Sept. 18, 1970. But as Ultimate Classic Rock reminds us, the record was released in the U.S. on Jan. 7, 1971. So it’s been 50 years since the defining album for the band that set heavy metal on its course.
Original Track Listing:
“War Pigs”
“Paranoid”
“Planet Caravan”
“Iron Man”
“Electric Funeral”
“Hand Of Doom”
“Rat Salad” (instrumental)
“Fairies Wear Boots”
Here are the clips of my two favorite songs on Paranoid, followed by a video mashup of the entire album if you’re so inclined.
