On This Day: Warrant lead singer Jani Lane passes away at age 47
August 11 marks 10 years since Warrant frontman Jani Lane died
My “On This Day” posts here at Rock Pedia are generally upbeat, celebrating an album anniversary or something else we should fondly recall. But today, it’s a somber anniversary.
On Aug. 11, 2011, Warrant lead singer Jani Lane died at age 47 due to what was deemed acute alcohol poisoning.
Warrant was a famous force in the hair or “glam” metal scene, with the albums Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich and Cherry Pie. The title track of that sophomore effort became the band’s best-known song, which stands to this day.
But I’m going to post videos for my two most favorite Warrant songs. Continue R.I.P. Mr. Lane.
