Aaron Lewis says Staind hopes to have new album done sometime this year
A decade since their last new album, Aaron Lewis has confirmed that Staind is working on a new album
May 8 will mark 20 years since Staind came out with it’s most successful album, Break The Cycle, and it’s been 10 years since their last, self-titled studio album. Since then front man Aaron Lewis has done some solo stuff, while as recently as 2019 lamenting how new Staind material might sound “pretty brutal” to an audience that’s used to their radio-friendly songs (“It’s Been Awhile”, “Outside”).
With release of a new live album coming on May 7, Lewis told Eddie Trunk on Sirius XM’s “Trunk Nation” there is a new studio album coming from Staind.
Via Blabbermouth:
I would certainly love to have it recorded and done by the end of this year, to be released next year. All of our plans that were kind of semi on the books and on the table, everything just had a year taken off of it [due to the pandemic]. We were gonna have a record come out sometime in 2020 or certainly in 2021, and there was a schedule that was on the table that, just like everything else, got burned to the ground as soon as [the lockdown] started.
Staind has a couple of streaming events coming. One is a series and the other will celebrate the 20th anniversary of Break The Cycle. Get the details and buy tickets at Staindlive.com. I’ve posted a couple videos below the buttons, one from Staind and one from Lewis solo.
