On This Day: Stone Temple Pilots release "Tiny Music..."
On the 25th anniversary of Stone Temple Pilots releasing "Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop", I went down a STP/Scott Weiland rabbit hole.
On Mar. 26, 1996, Stone Temple Pilots released their third studio album, Tiny Music…Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop. It’s considered exemplary work, but I’m not here to flesh out that analysis.
Lead singer Scott Weiland died at age 48 in December of 2015, while on tour in Minnesota with his latest band the Wildabouts. In between STP and the Wildabouts, Weiland formed the supergroup Velvet Revolver with former Guns ‘N Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum.
Down a You Tube rabbit hole, I rediscovered my two favorite Stone Temple Pilots songs and my favorite Velvet Revolver song. Check out the clips below, and leave me a comment telling me your favorite Stone Temple Pilots song.
