Quarantine Discoveries-Unexpected Covers: W.A.S.P.-'Somebody To Love'
W.A.S.P. has an interesting set of covers they've done, and though I may be late to the party "Somebody To Love" can now be added to the list.
W.A.S.P. is not a band for all hard rock tastes, often profane stretching into outright over the line vulgarity. But they have done an interesting set of covers, from “Locomotive Breath”, to “Easy Living” to “The Real Me” to “I Don’t Need No Doctor” to “Mississippi Queen.” There are others I’m missing.
With a worthy h/t to this video via “Wall of Rock” on YouTube, I recently discovered another cover by W.A.S.P, from their 1995 album Still Not Black Enough.
“Somebody To Love”, originally done by Jefferson Airplane in the late 60’s. And the source of a memorable karaoke scene in the Jim Carrey movie “The Cable Guy”. Check out the video below, and be sure to tell me what you think in the comment section.
