David Ellefson no longer a member of Megadeth
After some troubling allegations, Megadeth has parted ways with bassist and founding member David Ellefson.
Megadeth has a new album coming soon. It also looks like the last time bassist David Ellefson will do work with the band he co-founded.
Ellefson is facing allegations, which he has denied, of online “grooming” of a woman who was underaged at the time. I don’t care to dive too deep into it, as it’s gross with a capital G-R-O-S-S if true. But Megadeth’s initial statement, citing “there are clearly aspects of David’s life that he has kept to himself”, pointed to this outcome. Frontman Dave Mustaine cited an “already strained relationship” in Monday’s statement.
Ellefson and Mustaine co-founded Megadeth in 1983, as Mustaine moved on from his stint in Metallica.
